This May sees Flambard Press publish three new poetry collections.
Sheree Mack’s debut Family Album stretches from Ghana, Barbados and Trinidad to England, tracing the migrations and changes of the last century and their connection to her personal history. Sheree will launch her new book at the legendary Morden Tower in Newcastle on Wednesday, 4 May at 7.30 p.m.
The Game of Bear is the follow-up to Peter Bennet’s T S Eliot Prize shortlisted, The Glass Swarm. His remarkable new poems centre on vertiginous time-shifts and colliding settings in Northumberland and Aquitaine and display his typical formal skill, wit and imaginative reach. Newcastle’s Lit and Phil will host Peter’s launch on Wednesday, 18 May at 7.30 p.m.
The well-loved Newcastle poet Desmond Graham’s new collection, The Scale of Change, follows on from his two highly regarded previous collections, Heart work and The Green Parakeet. His new work subtly and poignantly measures change and the need for change. Desmond is touring Europe during May but look out for UK events later in the summer.
All books are available to buy from Inpress and other online retailers.
