On Thursday, 22 March poet and novelist Gladys Mary Coles (The Echoing GreenSong of the Butcher Bird, Clay) and poet Andrew Forster (Fear of Thunder, Territory) will be reading in a celebration of Flambard Press at Liverpool Poetry Cafe in the Bluecoat Centre, Liverpool. The event is 7.30–9.30 pm, and tickets are  £4 (£2 concessions), from the Bluecoat Box Office, 0151 702 5324.

Gladys Mary Coles’ novel Clay was reviewed by Emma Rea in The New Welsh Review 94, Winter 2011: ‘A graphic account of the First World War from a personal and poetic viewpoint . . . Coles is at her best in the war passage where vividly drawn scenes and brisk dialogue give the narrative a filmic quality.’

Andrew Forster is the author of two poetry collections published by Flambard. Fear of Thunder was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection and Territory was widely praised for its description and detail.
