Writing about Newcastle at the Lit and Phil

by flambardblog

Join Desmond Graham and Michael Chaplin as they discuss writing about Newcastle upon Tyne and read extracts of poetry and fiction, as part of the Lit and Phil’s Creative Passions series.
Desmond has selected poems that chart his personal relationship with his adopted home, including those drawn from his most recent collection The Scale of Change. Michael will examine his father Sid Chaplin’s classic Newcastle novels The Day of the Sardine and The Watchers and the Watched and their exploration of change in 60s Newcastle. The two writers will discuss the different methods of writing about the City and the creation of imaginative and physical landscapes.
Friday, 24th February 5.30 p.m. £4/2 (includes entry into exhibition).
